In APICTA 2005 held recently in Chiangmai, 4 awards went to Thai teams as follows: The winner award of communication applications to Computer Telephony Asia, The merit award of media entertainment category to CyberPlanet Interactive, The merit award of secondary student projects to a student from Chulalongkorn University Demonstration School and The merit award of tertiary student to student team from Chiangmai University.
Referring to APICTA 2005 held in Chiangmai recently, the President of Asia Pacific ICT Award (APICTA) 2005, Mr. Jumrud Sawangsamud, said “APICTA 2005 was held in cooperation with the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology and The Software Industry Promotion Agency and The Association of Thai ICT Industry with an aim to provide a platform for Thai software developers and entrepreneurs. APICTA 2005 also aims at promotion self-learning, cooperation, collaboration and networking software business in the Asia Pacific.
“In addition, it can be said, the awards have more or less guaranteed Thai brand in the software industry and this will inspire other software developers to develop higher software applications or else. APICTA 2005 has succeeded due to the support lend by many key ICT organizations for examples, Oracle Corporation, TOT, Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau, Microsoft (Thailand), CAT Telecom, Market for Alternative Investment, Inter Far East Engineering and Tourism Authority of Thailand”
“This regional competition, moreover, give us a chance to test our products at the regional market and the awards presented also shows the high potential of Thai software because the awards have been judged by expert committee”, Mr. Jumrud said.
Mr. Sutee Satanasathaporn, Chairman of APICTA 2005 disclosed that the total number of software works in competition is 164 and they were classified into 15 categories as follows:

5. Presentation 10% is divided into Organization & Enquiries 50% equally.
For Thailand, we are second to none in terms of product innovation but we are not keen on business model, in particular marketing. Moreover, what need be improved is the presentation techniques in a continued speaking.
