The Bond Electronic Exchange (BEX) at The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) announced that the SET agreed to list 3 tranches of Government Housing Bank (GHB) bonds, comprised of 3 million units at THB1,000 par value each, with a total value of THB3 billion, on the BEX. One tranche, “GHB123A”, will commence trading on March 9, while the other two, “GHB123B” and “GHB143A” will start trading on March 16.
The listing of these bonds will boost the total listed issues of GHB bonds to 67 on the BEX. The total worth of GHB bonds listed on the BEX will increase to THB84.5 billion (2,144 Mill USD) Moreover, these new listings will boost the total market capitalization of the BEX to be THB3.689 trillion. (93,605 Mill USD)
3 tranches of GHB bonds consist of:
- GHB bonds no. 17/2006, “GHB123A”, which will commence trading on March 9, 2006. It has an issue size of THB1 billion and a six-year maturity. It can be redeemed on March 9, 2012. The bond bears a coupon interest rate of 5.20% per annum. Interest payments will be made on March 9 and September 9 annually.
- GHB bonds no. 18/2006, “GHB123B”, which will begin trading on March 16, 2006. It has an issue size of THB1 billion and a six-year maturity. It can be redeemed on March 16, 2012.
- GHB bonds no. 19/2006, “GHB143A” which will start trading on March 16, 2006. It has an issue size of THB1 billion and an eight-year maturity. It can be redeemed on March 16, 2014.
Interest payments for both bonds no. 18/2006 and 19/2006 will be made on March 16 and September 16 annually. Interest rates for these bonds will be announced on March 9, which was the auction date for both tranches. Investors can find all the information on these bonds in the SETSMART system.
