The food science student team from Chulalongkorn University is the champion of FoSTAT — Nestl? Quiz Bowl 2006 marking the fourth consecutive win for the university. The FoSTAT — Nestl? Quiz Bowl is a food science varsity competition that seeks out for the nation’s next generation of food scientists. This year’s competition held at BITEC, Bangna was a close race between the teams from Suranari Technical College, Nakhon Rachasima province and the Chulalongkorn team among the final 16 teams from the total 54 teams in the preliminary round.
The FoSTAT — Nestl? Quiz Bowl aims not only to promote the tertiary study but improve the specialist knowledge and understanding of food science and technology. The project is also a way of building up Thailand’s qualified personnel for this most socially and economically important industry to be able to compete globally as a food technology center. Nestl? (Thai) Ltd. has for the past four years given its continuous support to the Food Science and Technology Association of Thailand (FoSTAT) in this visionary project.

The triumphant team comprising of Mr. Kittidej Traianantwuttikul, Ms. Sutawan Charoenprasert, Ms. Titinat Lerdsukontaros and Ms. Kannikar Suttheerarak will also receive a scholarship cash prize and an educational trip to visit Nestl? Regional Research Center for food science and nutrition in Singapore.
