The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET)’s Bond Electronic Exchange (BEX) is looking for a “Bond Wizard”. On July 5, training was provided for students participating in ‘Bond Competition 2006’, aimed at youth, and an important part of BEX’s strategy to expand its investor base, BEX CEO Dr. Santi Kiranand, PhD., declared.
“Training will help students understand bonds and portfolio management. They will learn a great deal from the competition, and develop their skills, knowledge, and analytical thinking.
“The competition, introducing students to financial alternatives, will give them a firm financial foundation, with obvious benefits for their personal financial planning. Moreover, the 72 teams, from 26 universities nationwide, will have a chance to win prizes worth a total of THB 300,000,” said Dr. Santi.
Following the initial training on July 5, there will be further competitions before the semi-final on September 2 — 3, 2006 at the SET Building.
The winning team will receive a THB 30,000 cash prize, certificates, training and a certification exam for Level 1 of the Certified Investment and Securities Analyst program (CISA) worth THB 90,000. The host universities of all place-getters will be acknowledged by BEX.
The 2nd and 3rd place teams will receive prizes of THB 15,000 and THB 10,000 respectively and receive certificates and training in the ‘Modern Professional Program’ (MIP) worth THB 9,000.
