CONWOOD Company Limited, a subsidiary of Siam City Cement (SCCC) and a leader in innovative wood replacement construction materials announced with confidence its ability to achieve projected sales growth inspite of the economic downturn through aggressive marketing and new product innovations introduction. An ambitious sales growth representing an increase of over 40 percent from 2005 is targeted for 2006, which amounts to Bht. 800 millions.
Mr. Suthiphan Wacharopas, Chief Executive Officer of CONWOOD Company Limited disclosed that the overall market situation for both real estate and construction materials showed continuous signs of sluggishness since 2005 and this trend will continue until end of 2006. However, the market for wood replacement construction materials grew quickly as a consequence of continuous increase in demand for wood replacement construction materials. CONWOOD enjoyed an increase of well over 40 percent during the first half of this year and in order to offset the expected slowdown in 2006, CONWOOD will protect its market share through the introduction of new innovations and especially finding new market channels. It is expected that by the end of the year, CONWOOD will see a total sales revenue amounting to approximately Bht. 800 millions representing an increase of over 40 percent from 2005.
To achieve its projected target, the remaining year strategy will focus on introducing various types of product line into the market, including CONWOOD Stair, Siding, Decorative Panel, Lap Siding and Floor. In addition, CONWOOD will appoint more retail agents to expand distribution coverage. For project sales CONWOOD will also try to close various project deals as much as possible. Furthermore, it intends to expand its marketing efforts by border sales approaching into neighboring countries. As for distribution channels, CONWOOD will concentrate on 3 distribution channels: retail agents, housing project customers and modern trade in Home Center category, at the ratio of 85 : 10 : 5 respectively . The best selling product, about 60 percent, is CONWOOD Eave, followed by CONWOOD Lath, about 25 percent and other products, 15 percent.
As for Integrated Marketing Communications, CONWOOD will emphasize on penetrating directly to both end users and retail agents. Trade promotion campaigns will be employed at retail agents to enhance the desire to try out CONWOOD products. Strengthening sales team through training is also key to success. CONWOOD expects such training will equip their sales team with better product knowledge and professional consultancy. CONWOOD will also improve its customer service centers to prepare itself for the future activities related to Customer and Partner Relationship Management.
Mr. Suthiphan Wacharopas concluded, “Throughout our operation, we can see our strong growth potential as there are more newcomers, both direct and indirect competitors coming into the wood replacement business. CONWOOD firmly believes in its ability to build consumer trust and its readiness to address various problems for its customers. The public will see its continuous new innovations, and it intends to maintain position of a responsible organization towards society, and as the leader in the market of wood replacement.”
