Thailand’s Bond Electronic Exchange (BEX) has listed 12 tranches of treasury bills issued by the Ministry of Finance (MOF), totaling THB 71 billion (approx. USD 1.87 billion), the final batches of treasury bills to be issued for the 2006 fiscal year. They have maturity periods of up to six months, and are scheduled for listing in September:
1. TB49/49/28D, TB49/L49/91D, and TB49/L49/182D, worth THB 6 billion each, totaling THB 18 billion, will commence trading on September 4, 2006.
2. TB49/50/28D, TB49/L50/91D, and TB49/L50/182D, worth THB 6 billion each, totaling THB 18 billion, will commence trading on September 11, 2006.
3. TB49/51/28D, TB49/L51/91D, and TB49/L51/182D worth THB 6 billion each, totaling THB 18 billion, will commence trading on September 18, 2006.
4. TB49/52/28D and TB49/L52/91D, worth THB 6 billion each, plus TB49/L52/182D worth THB 5 billion, totaling THB 17 billion, will commence trading on September 25, 2006.
These issues will lift the value of BEX-listed government bonds to THB 2.85 trillion (approx. USD 74.97 billion), and the overall value of bonds listed on the Exchange to THB 3.30 trillion (approx. USD 86.84 billion).
