Bangkok--23 Nov--SET
Thailand Futures Exchange PCL (TFEX) rewarded outstanding brokers and marketers in its “Top Star Tournament” campaign. KGI Securities (Thailand) performed best in investor base expansion, while prizes for exceptional marketing performance went to Kim Eng Securities (Thailand), and KGI Securities (Thailand). TFEX will announce Derivatives Broker of the Year in December.
The Exchange introduced its “Top Star Tournament” during July 17 — October 16, 2006, encouraging brokerage firms to expand their businesses and recognize those which perform exceptionally well in trade and investor base expansion, TFEX President Ms. Kesara Manchusree said.
The ‘Top Start: Most Active Award’ worth THB 100,000 went to KGI Securities (Thailand) PCL, which had highest trading turnover on SET50 Index Futures.
The ‘Top Start: Futures Icon Award’ of THB 20,000 each for the three marketing representatives with the largest number of client accounts went to Mr. Sitthikorn Hussakunpiamsuk of Phillip Securities (Thailand) PCL, Ms. Woraporn trepopsakulsin of Kim Eng Securities (Thailand) PCL, and Ms. Jackavut Amonmaneekul of KGI Securities (Thailand) PCL.
TFEX’s significant growth is partly due to the campaign’s success. Total trading volume since opening has built to 140,601 contracts from an initial base of zero. This is equal to a daily average of 1,020 contracts with a total worth of THB 500 million. More than 4,000 derivatives trading accounts have been opened, exceeding TFEX’s original target.
As part of its ongoing promotional activity, the Exchange will host ‘TFEX Best Awards 2006’ to recognize brokers with this year’s best performance in terms of both quality and quantity. The result will be announced in February 2007.
