The “Let’s Activate Your LTF” (long-term equity funds) campaign boosted investment by THB 2.8 billion (approx. USD 77.78 million) during September - November and increased the pool of investors in these funds by 52% compared to the previous period.
By November 30, 2006, LTF investment had grown by THB 3,513 million or 23% from end-June. New purchases during July — November totaled THB 2,792 million.
“The quarterly increase in LTF investment indicates that people have grasped its tax planning and long-term saving advantages. In November, LTF accounts totaled 16,330 accounts, an increase of 179% from the 5,861 accounts in July, and accounts with investments committed for three consecutive months rose to 3,610 during September — November. New investment since August rose by 23% a month. Before the promotion, only THB 20 million was invested for three consecutive months (over April — June), but, with the campaign, this figure rose to THB 203 million during September - November, a massive 915% spike,” SET Executive Vice President Mr. Vichate Tantiwanich said.
