ING continues to move forward by opening the “Thai Euro High Dividend Fund.” The fund focuses on investing in high-yield stocks in the European Monetary Union. ING hopes to satisfy the increasing needs of investors. ING funds have an average annual rate of return of 21.29% for the previous 3 years. Sales are to begin the week of March 22- 29.
Mr. Maris Tarab, Managing Director of ING Funds (Thailand) Co., Ltd., declared that ING is preparing to offer a new foreign investment fund, or FIF, under the name “ING Thai-Euro High Dividend Fund,” with the total price of the project reaching 5,000 Million Baht that will initially be offered from the 22-29 of March, 2007.
The fund will invest in a “Feeder Fund,” or invest in ING (L) Invest Euro High Dividend Fund, a fund that is registered in Luxembourg, and will be managed by ING Investment Management located in the Netherlands.
The general policy of the “Thai Euro High Dividend Fund” will be to invest in the stock of listed companies on the various stock exchanges found within the European Monetary Union (EMU) by focusing on stocks that have a solid foundation, high liquidity, and a high dividend yield.
The Fund Managers have the duty of sifting through over 2,000 companies registered with the EMU in order to analyze the quality of the stock and amount available for purchase; specifically focusing on stocks that have a dividend yield threshold of at least 2.5% and investing in stocks that are in roughly equal proportions of weight. When all different factors are taken into consideration, there are only about 50-70 stocks that fit the criteria of the fund. The weight of investment will then be re-adjusted every quarter to cause the individual weight of each company to always remain in roughly equal proportions (Value & Qualitative Approach).
“The reason ING is focusing on stocks with a high-yield threshold is because any company that is able to continuously pay a high dividend rate is a company that has the ability to consistently turn a profit, has sufficient cash-on-hand, a clear vision of the future (indicating a stable organization), and continuously creates income in the face of an ever-changing economy” he stated.
One of the defining features of ING (L) Invest Euro High Dividend Fund lies in its high liquidity, indicated by the fact that they manage over 92,000 Million Baht in assets, a fund management by a team of 51 managers and analysts around the globe, and an average annual return of 21.36% in 2006, 19.55% in 2005, and 22.98% in 2004 respectively, an average rate of return of 21.29%.
He also said that currently the European market should continue to grow and now is an ideal time for ING to help Thai investment funds benefit from that growth through funds that show results and positive trends that will yield a pleasing rate of return when compared to the risk accepted.
The above stated fund will be available to purchase during daily working hours and shares in the fund can be sold twice-a-month. Investors interested in this fund can request further information by calling (02) 688-7777 ext. 7782-7789 or going to www.ingfunds.co.th
