Blue Elephant is very pleased to announce that Chef Somphong Saejew, Executive Chef, Blue Elephant London, has been awarded second place in the ‘Chef of the Year’ competition organized by the Health & Safety Authorities of Hammersmith and Fulham Council that took place at Hammersmith and West London College.
The ‘Chef of the Year’ competition highlighted hygiene standards whilst promoting creative and healthy cooking. Participating restaurants were constantly visited by examiners to check for cleanliness, cooking standards and nutritional value of dishes and in all these categories Blue Elephant passed with flying colors.
On the final day, Chef Somphong prepared Laab Salmon as a starter and Lamb Chops with Masaman Sauce for the main course. Both dishes suitably impressed the judges, scoring high marks for both creativity and healthy cooking, and Chef Somphong duly collected his prize for second place.
