Bangkok--24 May--ScottAsia Communications
Hay Group Thailand and the Listed Companies Association (LCA) have announced a strategic partnership to develop executive leadership and related skills through a series of workshops in Thailand.
The four workshops are in response to the LCA’s Thailand Economic Outlook Survey 2007 in February. The survey polled 77 CEOs and leading executives of listed companies in the Stock Exchange of Thailand and the Market of Alternative Investment on how to improve competitive edge. In the responses, human resource development came out clearly ahead of other challenges such as logistics, energy conservation, production process and corporate governance.
As a consequence, an “Executive Leadership Development” workshop on 30 May will be followed by “Building Top Team Effectiveness” (13 June), “Coaching for High Performance” (27 June) and “Reducing Organisational Risk with Succession Planning” (4 July). Hay Group’s senior executives will deliver the content of the workshops.
LCA President Ms Pensri Suteerasarn said LCA and Hay Group were launching the seminar to boost companies’ competitive edge in a time of political uncertainty and softening consumer demand.
Hay Group Thailand general manager Mr Anotai Adulbhan said: “Hay Group’s research results have told us time and again that it is companies with executive leadership development, coaching, talent management, succession planning, and companies that work as a team, that all do well financially. The Listed Companies Association is helping Hay Group take that message to LCA’s members.”
Ms Pensri said the seminars will be suitable for Thai companies that are preparing to strengthen competitiveness through people development, especially in the area of succession planning.
Mr Anotai added: “The first seminar on leadership aims to provide a clear understanding of what motivation is and how leaders can create and sustain motivation in order to obtain increased performance from their team.”
Each workshop session will be a half day. The first workshop on executive leadership development will analyse recent trends in leadership development, what the world’s most admired companies do, the current leadership crisis, what works, what’s not worth the effort, what leaders can do about it, different leadership styles, and leadership self-assessment tools.
The workshops will take place at the Sukhothai Bangkok and will conclude with a dialogue on major concerns and issues for Thailand in 2007. For more information, please contact the Listed Companies Association or visit www.lca.or.th
