New service makes importing even simpler to reinforce DHL’s market leadership position
DHL, the world’s leading express and logistics company, announced today that it has enhanced its Import Express service with the introduction of Import Express Online (IEO), a customer facing web-based solution dedicated to automate and support the Import Express product offering.
The web-based service is part of DHL’s continual efforts to enhance the features and offerings of Import Express - one of DHL’s fastest growing products in Asia Pacific. Customers using this product enjoy the simplicity and control of one point of contact, one fixed price, and one invoice in their local currency for all their door-to-door import requirements from over 210 countries.
Since its launch 12 years ago, Import Express has been registering strong growth, and has consistently enjoyed 20 to 25 per cent growth rate in Asia Pacific in the past few years.
“The success of Import Express is driven by our commitment to constantly review and add new features to strengthen the product offering to suit the evolving needs of our customers,” said Mr Herbert Vongpusanachai, Managing Director, Indochina Region - DHL Express. “The launch of Import Express Online today is part of our continual effort to further simplify the process-driven supply chain that will help improve efficiency, and provide greater security for our customers.”
“DHL’s philosophy in simplifying the shipment process is reflected in a concise and yet straightforward tagline - DHL makes importing simple. This innovative online tool is ideal for multinational companies and small to medium-sized enterprises who engage in international trading frequently as Thailand’s economy is increasingly driven by consumer complexity, commercial maturity and progress of technology infrastructure. DHL is continuously committed to provide our customers with best-in-class express and logistics solutions to meet their increasingly sophisticated needs.” Mr Herbert added.
The feature-laden and user-friendly Import Express Online now enables Import Express account holders and their third party suppliers to not only create and process shipment instructions electronically, but also to schedule shipment pick-up instructions to DHL electronically.
The host of services includes ease of use based on automation of Import Express shipment processing; increased visibility of shipment processes including e-mail notification of shipment details; availability of past shipment details and history for up to 99 days; improved security and increased control for importer to eliminate potential misuse of account numbers.
To complement the introduction of Import Express Online in Thailand, a customer road show will be organized in early June 2007 to highlight the unique benefits of DHL’s Import Express service, including the introduction of the enhanced web-based Import Express Online service.
