Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) showcases the strong potential of Thailand’s exhibition industry by bringing members of the international press from more than 10 countries to experience a major international tradeshow held in Thailand as well as to visit world class exhibition facilities and infrastructure in mid June.
It will also host a special event titled ‘Exhibiz Gala Night’ that will serve as the platform to enhance business networking and promote business opportunities among the participants. The sustained growth is due largely to the fact that Thailand is well equipped with world-class exhibition and convention centres, solid infrastructure, sound economic fundamentals, along with Thailand’s beautiful unique culture, delicious food, and various tourism product offerings. These attributes have helped make the country one of the region’s leading destination for MICE and especially for international and regional exhibitions, considering that the exhibition industry in Thailand is currently growing at an annual pace of 10-15 percent.
“TCEB — Exhibition Department has organized this ‘Media Familiarization Trip and Exhibiz Gala Night’, two of exhibition department’s key projects for 2007, in order to continuously promote Thailand’s exhibition industry to reach its full potential. Specifically, these activities will help drive one of TCEB’s main missions to make Thailand become the Exhibition Hub of Southeast Asia by the year 2010,” Mr. Kajit added.
Mr. Vithaya Sintharapantorn, TCEB’s Exhibition Director, commented on the progress of the activities that “the Media Familiarization Trip and the Exhibiz Gala Night now are about 90 percent ready. These activities are scheduled to take place in simultaneity, sharing similar objectives in which to reinforce the awareness of Thailand as a key destination for international and regional exhibitions within Southeast Asia, to showcase the Thailand exhibition industry and illustrate how exhibitions can effectively serve as an effective platform for the promotion of increased business opportunities, hence enhancing bilateral trade ties between Thailand and other countries, as well as to promote more business networking and interactions among the participants for future co-operation and/or partnerships.”
The Media Familiarization Trip, which will take place during 13-16 June 2007, will include media representatives from China, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, Vietnam, the Philippines, Indonesia as well as some countries from the Middle East. The trip features visits to major exhibition centers in Thailand such as IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Center (IMPACT), Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre (BITEC), The Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC), Central World Convention & Exhibition Center, Royal Paragon Hall at Siam Paragon and Pattaya Exhibition and Convention Hall (PEACH). The whole group of media are also scheduled to visit ‘ProPak Asia 2007’, one of Asia’s biggest exhibitions on innovative product packaging technologies as well as to attend the ‘Exhibiz Gala Night,’ which will take place in the evening of 14 June.
“The Exhibiz Gala Night is an event co-hosted by TCEB - Exhibition Department and the Trade Exhibition Association (Thai). The event is formally titled as ‘Exhibiz Gala Night — A Showcase of Thailand’s Exhibition Industry and Dinner Talk’ and will take place at Royal Paragon Hall, Siam Paragon. This special night will also feature a special keynote address from Mr. Jochen Witt, President of the Global Association of Exhibition Industry or UFI under the topic of ‘The Asian Exhibition Industry & Thailand’s Opportunities’.
