Bangkok--20 Jun--BBL Bangkok Bank has won a ‘2006 EURO Straight Through Processing Excellence Award’ from Deutsche Bank for its outstanding performance in processing overseas fund transfer instructions. Bangkok Bank is the only Thai bank to receive the award and one of only three financial institutions in Asia to be awarded this year Bangkok Bank’s Global Payment Service Department Manager Thanit Sirichote said the award reflected the bank’s efficient operations and its accuracy in processing international fund transfer instructions. As a result, Bangkok Bank’s international fund transfer instructions are of an international standard, with 91 percent of instructions passing Deutsche Bank’s criteria for excellence. “The quality of our service ensures recipients around the world receive funds in an accurate, prompt, and punctual fashion. It reflects Bangkok Bank’s commitment to meeting our customers’ needs and providing them with quality products and services which meet international standards,” Mr. Thanit said “This award is also due to the co-operation between Bangkok Bank and Deutsche Bank which contributes to the high level of efficiency of our overseas fund transfer service,” he said. Deutsche Bank, a leading Euro clearing service provider, grants the ‘2006 EURO Straight Through Processing Excellence Award’ to selected financial institutions from more than 73 countries worldwide which send their overseas funds transfer instructions through Deutsche Bank’s networks. The award is granted to banks which pass a set of criteria which include a volume of outward overseas fund transfer instructions of more than 10,000 transactions per year, accuracy of more than 90 percent of all the transfer instructions, and continual improvement in efficiency each year. In May this year, Bangkok Bank also won a similar award from JP Morgan Chase Bank, an ‘MT103 Quality Recognition Award’, for the third consecutive year for exceptional quality of US dollar payment processes. Bangkok Bank achieved a straight through processing rate of 95 percent.
