Bangkok--28 Jun--SET At The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET)’s forthcoming Money Channel Road Show in Chiang Mai, economic and investment experts will discuss trends for H2/2007. More than 20 securities, asset management and listed companies will participate in the event on Saturday June 30, 2007, at Lotus Pang Suan Kaew Hotel. Successful investor promotion events held during the first half of the year include Money Expos in Bangkok and Nakorn Ratchasima, held in collaboration with Money & Banking Magazine in the capital, and, in Phuket, with the Money Channel Road Show. After the Chiang Mai road event, SET road shows will be staged at Udon Thani and Khon Kaen in the Northeast, SET President Ms. Patareeya Benjapolchai said. “The event is to provide people with expert, up-to-date advice on matters such as the Thai stock market, which still yields about 4% annually on average - considerably higher than bank deposits and some other exchanges. Selective investment in stocks with good fundamentals and consistent returns continues to make good financial sense,” Ms. Patareeya said. Trading in Chiang Mai province has been active, with trading value in 2007 (January — May) leading the Northern region at THB 20,271 million or THB 4,054 million per month. The province accounts for 49% of total northern trading of THB 41,561 million or THB 8,312 million per month. Currently there are 21 securities companies operating in Chiang Mai. Seminar topics at the Chiang Mai Money Channel Road Show include “Thai economic and investment trends for H2/2007”, “How to run a business, invest and save profitably”, and “Derivatives, funds, and stocks: what is a win-win strategy?”.
