Bangkok--28 Jun--PTT PTT Acquisition of JET Thailand Retail Business Expected To Improve Efficiency And Customer Satisfaction Through Business Synergy The combination of PTT’s business strength and JET/Jiffy’s existing impressive service standard and excellent site locations is expected to bring an increased competitive edge and further improve customer satisfaction. Mr. Chaivat Churitti, Senior Executive Vice President Oil Business Group of PTT Public Company Limited (PTT), revealed that following the Sales and Purchase Agreement regarding the JET/Jiffy retail business in Thailand, including 146 service stations and related assets, signed by PTT and ConocoPhillips on April 19, 2007, the operations and management will officially be transferred to PTT on June 28, 2007. PTT has announced its readiness to ensure the smooth transition and continued excellence of the JET/Jiffy operations through the implementation of a detailed integration plan. It is confirmed that the existing experienced and professional management team and staff of JET/Jiffy will continue to provide impressive services to customers. Meanwhile, its fuel products and oil businesses will also be strengthen through the support provided by PTT as Thailand’s national energy company. PTT Senior Executive Vice President added that the JET/Jiffy operations will be managed by PTT’s wholly owned subsidiary, PTT Retail Business Co., Ltd. (PTTRB). In addition, PTT has maintained the rights to use the JET/Jiffy Brand for a period of at least 2 years. Under the JET/Jiffy business and service upgrading plan, PTT will still join hands with existing business partners of JET/Jiffy and will seek to further strengthen such relationships. As part of the integration implementation, an extensive face-to-face customer survey will be conducted through 7,000 — 8,000 respondents at each JET/Jiffy location. The data obtained will be analyzed and used to indicate future quality and service initiatives for the JET/Jiffy stations. Meanwhile, quality and service standard improvement initiatives will also be seen at the existing 1,200 PTT stations nation wide. Amid the ongoing fierce competition in the domestic retail oil business, maximizing the synergy between the PTT and JET stations is the realization of an important strategic goal for PTT by expanding customer-service networks in order to bring about higher efficiency and customer satisfaction.
