Bangkok--6 Jul--Thai AirAsia Thai AirAsia is offering a special “Thank You” promotion for the unwavering support of its guests and to boost domestic and international tourism. Promotional fares start at 199 baht for domestic travel and at 299 baht for international travel. Thai AirAsia’s management recently acquired 50% of the airline’s shares, raising the management’s total stake in the airline to 51% and removing doubts about the airline’s compliance with the foreign ownership limit policy. Mr. Tassapon Bijleveld, chief executive officer of Thai AirAsia, said, “With the buyout of shares in the airline, I want the public to know that we don’t have political ties. We want to focus on business so that we can boost tourism and thereby help the Thai economy, which is our highest commitment.” He added, “To thank our guests for supporting our airline by flying with us, we want to continue to offer them good service and lowest airfares and to make them happy with our special promotional fares of 199 baht for domestic flights and 299 baht for international flights.” The special fares are valid for flights between July 9 and September 27, 2007.
