EGAT LAUNCHES NEW CORPORATE CAMPAIGN TO FOCUS ON ‘NON-STOP DUTY’ FOR PUBLIC HAPPINESS

Bangkok--12 Jul--EGAT Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT), with the assistance of Lowe Ltd, is launching a new corporate communications campaign under the concept of the ‘non-stop duty’ for the public happiness. Aimed at enhancing its corporate image among the public, the campaign including a new TV commercial is set to start running on Friday 13th, 2007. EGAT’s Deputy Governor Apichart Diloksophon said the new corporate campaign would create a better public understanding toward the EGAT role as the country’s leader in electricity supply, and as a key supporter to the country’s economic stability over the past 38 years. The new TVC features the fact that some people might overlook, Mr. Apichart said, all aspects and parties in the society eventually has their breaks while electricity supply can not afford to have a break. “We have been here though out the past 38 years with mission to provide non-stop services for the happiness of Thai people, and we have a strong commitment to go on,” said Mr. Apichart. Mr. Chuengchai Phuvaveeranont of Lowe Ltd. added that the EGAT’s new TVC is set to start running on this up-coming Friday, July 13th. The company plans the commercial frequency will be high during the first 3 months of the campaign. In July, it will feature in 60-second spots and to be cut into 30 seconds later next month. The 30-second spot will be also utilized over the next 6 months in 120 theaters under Major Cineplex, and EGV chains. Bangkok people are a major group of target audiences as this group consume most electricity supply. Apart from the TV commercial, EGAT has placed its giant-sized outdoor billboards in 3 prime locations in Bangkok, and advertising displays on the electronic traffic sign board around city. This is to specially increase exposure among people in the city. Moreover, EGAT plans to implement a unique communication activity to support the new corporate campaign. Under the plan, a group of silence performers will visit fashionable areas such as Siam Square and Silom. They tend to communicate, via their silence performance, about the necessity of electricity supply that is behind all the modern facilities in the city life. Mr. Apichart said EGAT would like to convey our corporate messages to consumers nationwide. The authority has a strong commitment to serve them the 24-hour electricity supply with teamwork, professionalism, and high accountability.
