Big C teams up with Happy from DTAC for Shop Call Free campaign providing more value and safety for customers

Bangkok--12 Jul--Aziam Burson-Marsteller Big C in collaboration with DTAC will launch the new “Shop Call Free, Happy Gives More” campaign that offers Big C and Happy customers free calls when they shop for any of 6,000 participating items. Happy has also produced 1.5 million Happy Shop Call Free top up cards with bonus credit. During the introductory period Big C — Happy customers who subscribe to the Shop Call Free program at all Big C stores will receive a special bonus of free credits worth a total of 2 million baht and 2 million baht in discount coupons. According to Ms Jariya Chirathivat, Vice President, Marketing and Communications, Big C Supercenter PCL, “The Shop Call Free campaign is a Big C loyalty campaign that offers free mobile phone calls to customers who have elected to be Shop Call Free members and purchased participating product items. Most recently, Big C has joined DTAC to launch the innovative “Shop Call Free Happy Gives More” campaign to expand the Shop Call Free service to Happy customers. Happy customers can buy quality products at low prices at Big C and also receive free calls when buying any of the over 6,000 participating product items for the whole year. The campaign offers free calls up to 2,000 baht. Happy customers can register to be a Shop Call Free card member at no cost at any Big C store, or buy from the 1.5 million Happy Shop Call Free top up cards that DTAC has produced. Happy Shop Call Free cards are available nationwide and also via all cashier lanes at all Big C stores. “More than 20 million baht was set aside for marketing activations in support of this campaign. Big C expects more than 500,000 mobile phone numbers will participate in the campaign by the end of this year and anticipates a 30% increase in sales of participating product items,” said Ms Jariya. The Shop Call Free campaign has received excellent consumer feedback for over a year. This is represented by the fact that more than 2 million Shop Call Free subscribers have purchased participating products via the Shop Call Free card. The Shop Call Free program has helped Big C to upgrade its database on new customers and this information allows Big C to understand shopping habits of customers who hold Shop Call Free cards. With this information Big C has been able to offer more value to customers through segmentation, which has helped generate a 26% increase in sales to date on participating products. Big C also makes it more convenient for its customers to receive free calls when they shop for any participating product by just having to show their mobile phone numbers instead of their Shop Call Free cards. For non-members, Big C receipts for participating products will indicate free call credits. Once the customer subscribes the free calls on the receipt will be recorded in the system. The Happy Shop Call Free cards that Happy has exclusively produced for the campaign mark a value added approach for top up cards under the Refill Marketing concept, which was initiated last year. Upon application and registration, customers can use the top up cards as a member card for the Shop Call Free program. Happy is focused on launching new campaigns continuously to bring fun, excitement and privileges to its customers via top up cards. General Happy customers who participate in the campaign will receive a 10 baht Happy Bonus. Happy Shop Call Free top up cards that were exclusively produced by Happy are available at all Big C stores and other dealers nationwide. Participating customers who shop for any participating product items will receive free call credits as specified on shelves. Happy will transfer the free credits to customers every time they accumulate 10 baht worth of credits.
