The British Council’s Thai-UK Alumni and Professional Network would like you to join the 2-day “Living Together” Art Workshop by Pornpilai Meemalai & Jiradej Meemalai. Date : Friday 20 and Saturday 21 July 2007 Time : 09.00 — 16.00 hrs Venue: U-Zone (2nd floor), British Council Siam Square Project Title: “Living Together” This workshop is part of the activities of the “Living Together” Art Exhibition at Ardel, The Gallery of Contemporary Art, Bangkok, Thailand. Content “Living Together” is the title of an art exhibition by duo artists: Pornpilai Meemalai and Jiradej Meemalai to expand on the concept of how people live with each other beneath an individual attitude within a shared space and time. We would like to encourage you to: - To attend the workshop in pair with your friend/family/colleague/boyfriend or girlfriend). (If you would like to come alone, no worry, please do so.) - To bring 1 selected personal object to the workshop that is related to your personal statement/belief/attitude. The object is required as the medium or material to create art work (3 dimensional from any medium) in the workshop, that is to say, the object will be transformed into art object at the end of the process. Day 1: Begin with 1 question in relation to the workshop subject: “How do we live together? Each participant will explore and share his/her own message with his/her workshop partner and summarize into 1 conclusion. Day 2: The conclusion is to become the main concept of the object to be made. Following steps of experimenting/drawing/visualizing, each participant will use their object with suitable adding materials supply by the workshop to create 1 whole piece of work that carries the duo’s message. Fees for the 2-day workshop: 2 persons for THB 1,500 net 1 person for THB 1,000 net (2 coffee breaks and one lunch of each day are inclusive.)
