At Thara Thong, Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel & Tower's award-winning Thai restaurant, we're taking Isaan cooking to the next level during a very special celebration of this much-loved cuisine from Thailand's northeast. During the two-month long Isaan Delights promotion from July 1 to August 30, Chef Charoensri Vatanayut gives Isaan favorites the “five-star” treatment, using authentic recipes and the finest ingredients to create unforgettable dishes that are both delicious, a delight to look at, and healthy, too! Diners have the option of 6-course set menus at both lunch and dinner (850 baht), or you can select your favorites from the special Isaan Delights a la carte menu. Bursting with flavors, the choices include Por Pia Lab Woonsen Thod (Fried spring rolls filled with vermicelli and Thai herbs), Keng Som Pla Isaan (Hot and sour fillet of snapper soup with sherry tomato and mushrooms), Song Glur Thod (spicy Isaan sausage and sun-dried beef), Goong Chae nam Pla (Prawns with chilli, lime and bitter melon Larb Ped (Grilled duck salad with spicy herbs), Khao Niew Som Tum Moo Thod (Papaya salad served with steamed sticky rice and fried dry pork), Pla kapond Thod Jim Jaew (Deep fried whole white snapper served with vegetable and, of course, the indispensable Jaew (chili dip). You can experience these as well as other culinary delights at the Thara Thong Royal Thai Cuisine restaurant, open for lunch from noon to 2:30 p.m. and dinner from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. seven days a week. The restaurant offers comfortable floor-seating, either at low tables in an air-conditioned teak pavillion or patio dining outside, both with mesmerizing views of the Chao Phraya River.
