This year's Australian Indigenous Tourism Conference (AITC) will be staged from 20. - 23. October in Broome, the tropical pearling town in Australia's Northwest. The conference is being presented for the fourth consecutive year by WAITOC, the Western Australian Indigenous Tourism Operators Committee. The WAITOC network was founded in 2000, to support and promote the Aboriginal Culture, as one of the most important and essential aspects of marketing Australia as a tourism destination. WAITOC is committed to securing a supportive and effective business environment for Indigenous Tourism Operators, which offers an opportunity to participate in the Tourism Industry and showcase culturally authentic indigenous tourism product, but at the same time, conserve and protect their traditional lifestyle, environment and country.
