Bangkok--19 Jul--Thai AirAsia Thai AirAsia and the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) have teamed up again to attract more visitors to the kingdom, this time by sending their campaign across the skies. TAT painted the airline’s recently-delivered 13th aircraft with a striking design bearing the Amazing Thailand theme. The aircraft, a Boeing 737-300, will fly to all of Thai AirAsia’s domestic and international destinations, thus the design will be seen in the skies of Thailand and overseas. The painted aircraft was used in Thai AirAsia’s inaugural flight to Shenzhen last July 15. Mr. Tassapon Bijleveld, chief executive officer of Thai AirAsia, said, “We are honored that the Tourism Authority of Thailand has again chosen Thai AirAsia as its partner in boosting tourism. We are proud to carry the Amazing Thailand design on our aircraft. By it, we are able to display Thailand’s beauty to the world. This is one of the many ways by which we support our country.” Ms. Phornsiri Manoharn, TAT Governor, said, “The Tourism Authority of Thailand is privileged to have the steadfast support of Thai AirAsia. Since it began flying, Thai AirAsia has enabled more tourists to visit Thailand, thanks to its very reasonable airfares. With the airline’s network of destinations and frequency of flights, I know that the design will be very visible and that this project will be successful.” Members of the Thai media and other guests viewed the aircraft at Suvarnabhumi International Airport. A performing troupe from the world famous Siam Niramit cultural theatre presented a Klongyao dance, a traditional Thai performance showcasing graceful movements to the beat of drums, to welcome the guests and celebrate the project.
