Bangkok--23 Jul--Oasis Media Home Builder Association plans to aggressively stimulate home building market in the second half of 2007 by staging Home Builder 2007 with almost 50 participating home building companies, building material manufacturers, and financial institutions, i.e. Siam Commercial Bank and Government Housing Bank. The Association also reveals its plan to introduce special promotion, where those who decide to sign a contract on site will have a chance to win great prizes, including a gift check valued 1,000,000 Baht and five 2-Baht gold prizes. As a special activity, the event will feature 21 special home packages. Besides all these, the Association will also partner with Government Housing Bank to conduct a consumer research in order to jointly develop a common database in the future. Mr. Sakda Kovisut, President of the Home Builder Association, discloses that the Association will stage Home Builder 2007 during August 15-19, 2007 at Queen Sirikit National Convention Center under the concept “Focusing Standard” in order to strengthen home building standard. There will be almost 50 leading home building companies participated in this event, which is considered to be biggest event of its kind. Besides home builders, there will be building material manufacturers, home decoration, financial institutions, i.e. Government Housing Bank and Siam Commercial Bank, which will offer special home loan rates in this event, and media in real estate business. During the first half of the year, the Association’s main focus has been placed upon home building standard, e.g. drafting standard home building contract and taking care of consumers who suffer from malpractice of certain home builders, in order to create consumer confidence. This focus is later used as key concept of this year’s event that all participating members of the Home Builder Association will adhere to. Moreover, in order to stimulate the market in the second half of the year, there will be special promotion package and activities throughout the event, especially those who decides to sign a contract on site will have a chance to win prizes, including a gift check valued 1,000,000 Baht and five 2-Baht gold prizes. On top of these are 100 new housing models that have never been exhibited anywhere and special promotion packages from each participating company, which is expected to make this event even more colorful than last year. “This year, we have quite a good response from our exhibitors. There are almost 50 participating companies comparing to around 30 companies last year. At the same time, we also aim to stimulate home building market in the second half of the year to be more bullish; therefore, we arrange special promotion package especially for those would like to build their houses. It is expected that there will be at least 100,000 quality visitors and our exhibitors will be able to make more than 1 billion Baht sales on site plus another 3 billion Baht after the show” said Mr. Sakda. Mr. Sakda further added that, besides special promotion, there will be many interesting activities throughout the event, including special housing package from members of the Home Builder Association. This special package will include 21 housing models to be built at special prices ranging from 1.99 — 6 million Baht. Besides this, other activities include 12 free blue prints to give away, organized groups to Home Builder 2007 for students, architecture and engineering consulting corner for those who want to build or have problems about their houses, book corner featuring Home Design Volume I, which is the latest collection of more than 100 home designs to be sold at a special price of Baht 199 from its cover price of Baht 380. During the fair, the Association will partner with Government Housing Bank to conduct a consumer research about the behavior of those who would like to build their houses using a structured questionnaire to ask information about their needs in home building. This information will then be used to improve and to develop home building market as a whole so that it is widely accepted. In its latest move, the Association is under a discussion with the Government Housing Bank’s Real Estate Information Center to exchange certain home building information so that the information could better serve the industry and be used as reference in studying and analyzing the market in general.
