Thai bourse to conduct comprehensive testing of post-trade system

ข่าวทั่วไป Tuesday July 24, 2007 16:22 —PRESS RELEASE LOCAL

Bangkok--24 Jul--SET Thailand Securities Depository (TSD) will undertake comprehensive system testing before the introduction of Post Trade Integration (PTI) - a major development in post-trade transactions and services - on October 22, 2007. The trial was announced at a meeting with brokers and custodians today (July 23) and will take place during August and September. “PTI will integrate securities registration, clearing and settlement, and depository systems, replacing the previous separate processes which required data transfers at the end of each day, rendering real-time data retrieval impossible,” TSD Chief Executive Officer Ms. Sopawadee Lertmanaschai said. By boosting efficiency, PTI will be a faster and cheaper system, able to support expanded domestic and international services and business opportunities. Add-on services include an internet-based securities subscription capability which will enable a securities underwriter to record and amend data more conveniently. This new system will replace the current Securities Registration System on Personal Computer or SRGPC. To ensure all related parties are well prepared for PTI, TSD will discuss the new system with securities issuers in early October.
