MIND THE GAP PRESENTS BACK TO THE UNDERGROUND

ข่าวทั่วไป Tuesday July 24, 2007 16:32 —PRESS RELEASE LOCAL

Bangkok--24 Jul--MIND THE GAP Venue : Club Culture, Sri Ayudthaya Rd. (Phayathai BTS) Date : Wednesday 8th August Time : 9pm Tickets : 300 Baht with 1 drink (20+) Mind the Gap serves up another slice of the best indie rock that follows hot on the heels of recent successful gigs at Primp Bar, Club Culture and Jazz It! Bangkok’s premier live indie night returns to Club Culture on Wednesday August 8th and once again gives you four more bands at the cutting edge of Thailand’s explosive indie scene. From the triumphal return of indie legend Ornaree to Mhee Noi’s gritty “pop/punk” overtures, make no mistake; this will be another night of uncompromising, high energy performances. ORNAREE After a successful career with Bakery Music, Ornaree disappeared into the wilderness. Fast forward 2 years and she's back with a new band and a new sound and is firing on all cylinders. The rare appearances made so far have been greeted with huge support by fans old and new alike. If you haven’t heard her music before then think Kate Bush meets Nirvana and you still wouldn't be close. Grab the chance to see their most explosive performance yet. SALIVA BASTARDS Gene, Pek and Earth form one of Bangkok’s most popular indie bands with a brand of art rock that maintains a mainstream appeal. Their live shows always impress and they are regulars at fat fest and other large indie concerts. ABUSE THE YOUTH The saying "less is more" perfectly sums up this classic 3 piece. Their unique take on the post punk Seattle sound of the early 90's is more than refreshing in a world of soundalikes and wannabe's. With gigs in Thailand and Malaysia under their belt, Abuse the youth are ones to watch. MHEE NOI Mhee Noi's youthful exuberance and killer songs delivered with an enormous dose of punk attitude make them a "must see". Already being name checked by other bands and with the media taking notice with recent articles in The Nation and BK Magazine, Mhee Noi are certainly destined for greater things and represent the future of Thai indie music.
