Bangkok--25 Jul--Aziam Burson-Marsteller Mr. Piyabutr Cholvijarn, the Deputy Minister of Industry, recently presided over the cornerstone laying ceremony at the Honda R&D Southeast Asia Co., Ltd. (HRS-T), the Honda motorcycle R&D facility in Bangkok’s Ladkrabang district. The Deputy Minister was welcomed by Honda executives, led by Mr. Tatsuhiro Oyama (right-center), President & CEO of Asian Honda Motor Co., Ltd., and Mr. Masumi Hamane (4th from left), Senior Managing Director of Honda R&D Co., Ltd. (Japan), along with a group of high-ranking government officials. Honda is investing 900 million Baht in the expansion of the HRS-T motorcycle research and development facility. Once fully-operational in mid 2008, the company will greatly increase its capability to conduct more sophisticated R&D including designing engine parts, testing export models, performing emission tests to the requirements of specific markets in the Asia and Oceania.
