Bangkok--26 Jul--K-Tech Construction SET listed construction and engineering contractor K-Tech Construction Public Company Limited (“K-TECH”) today announced that the Company had been awarded The Aquaminium Project by Buppachart Company Limited. Located at the Royal Phuket Marina Complex, The Aquaminium signals the commencement of the much anticipated second phase of the Royal Phuket Marina Project and is evidence of K-TECH’s intention to further enhance its presence on the Island and follows on closely from the award of The Cape Yamu Project (Hotel & Infrastructure). “We are delighted to have been awarded the initial package on the next phase of the Royal Phuket Marina Project,” said Mr. Dominic Der Kevorkian, Managing Director of K-TECH. “I think that it is fair to say that since entering the Phuket market a little over 6 years ago, that we have considered Phuket as potentially K-TECH’s most substantial area of operations after Bangkok. We are in discussion with a number of international developers which if successful would result in Phuket rivaling Bangkok as our largest revenue base over the next 2 — 3 years”, added Mr. Der Kevorkian. To date K-TECH have successfully executed a significant number of high profile projects in Phuket including Central Phuket Festival; Evason Resort Phases II & III; Phuket Graceland Hotel & Resort; Movenpick Residence; Indigo Pearl Hotel & Resort and Royal Phuket Marina Phase I. In addition to Cape Yamu and The Aquaminium, the Company is currently engaged on Trisara Phase C and The Alila Hotel & Resort Projects. “Despite political and economic concerns, Thailand remains an attractive location for investment particularly in the hospitality sector. As stability returns to the political environment, hopefully there will be additional measures that will further stimulate the real estate sector and by extension the construction and engineering sector. In terms of Phuket's place in the global market, it does not take a huge leap of faith to say that it is well on the way to becoming the Marbella of Asia”, stated Mr. Der Kevorkian.
