Bangkok--1 Aug--Krungthai Card KTC is pleased with the results of “Talents Don’t Go Unnoticed” held jointly with Fat Radio. The television commercial and radio spot contest attracted nearly 200 submissions from more than 300 teams of university students in Thailand. The firm assures it will put the creative pieces to real use by broadcasting it to the public throughout August as a part of a 500 Million Baht groundbreaking marketing campaign titled “Shop Now, Get Now”, with plans for more teenage programs each year. The winning television commercial is “Lhood Yook” from Srinakharinwirote Prasarnmit University and the winning radio spot is “Nguk” from Naresuan University. Niwatt Chittalarn, President & Chief Executive Officer, KTC or Krungthai Card Public Company Limited, said “This is the first year of “Talents Don’t Go Unnoticed”. The contest is consistent with our continued effort to run projects for teenagers. A notable project we have initiated over four years ago is Learn & Earn @ KTC where we accept students of vocational school and higher institutions as trainees when they have the time away from their study. We are also engaged in the sponsorship of various organizations and teenage programs. “Talents Don’t Go Unnoticed” is a television commercial and radio spot contest. And it is one which is different from conventional contests in that, as we want to give teenagers the chance to express their creativity to the fullest extent possible,it is the first and only contest where winning pieces will actually be used as a part of a marketing campaign worth 500 Million Baht titled“Shop Now, Get Now” which is set to break all reward point rules.” “We see “Talents Don’t Go Unnoticed” as a satisfactory success. There were nearly 200 submissions, 93 of them were television commercials and 88 were radio spots. They were all produced by more than 300 teams of students from universities like Thammasat University, Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok University, Assumption University, Srinakharinwirote Prasarnmit University, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, Naresuan University, Bansomdejchaopraya Rajabhat University, Ramkhamhaeng University and Sukhothai Thammathirat University. You must admit that Thai teenagers are not inferior to their foreign counterparts when it comes to creativity, expression of ideas and communication skills. The only thing they lacked was an opportunity and the channel through which they can express themselves publicly.” “The winning pieces are decided mainly on the basis of creativity. We imposed no restriction with regard to techniques and methods. The commercials and the spots only needed to carry the message across clearly to the audience or the consumers so that they would be better informed about the new KTC reward points concept under which members can exchange reward points quicker and more conveniently without the need for a catalogue. The panel comprised of qualified individuals from advertising, television, radio and film industries, including creatives from Contract Advertising, Yuthana Boon-orm and Pongpaiboon Sitthikoo, and, 365 Film Thai Directors like Komkrit Treewimol, Wittaya Tongyooyong, Nithiwat Tharathorn and Songyot Sookmarkanand.” “The grand prize winning television commercialis “Lhood Yook” by Kai Hin Team from Srinakharinwirote Prasarnmit University, receiving One Hundred Thousand Baht scholarship, certificate and a plaque. Two runner-ups winningTwenty Thousand Baht scholarships, certificates and plaques include “Samoot Sticker” by Tchin Tchin Chill Team from Bangkok University and “Laek” by Depth of feel feat. We believe that, by putting these works of to real use in a business scenario, students will be proud of themselves and be inspired to face the actual working life in the future. This is a bold first move towards improvement and international competitiveness for the Thai advertising industry. We thank all students for the time and the effort they have put into the submissions as if we are working as one organization. We hope to see more participations in future contests.” “KTC will continue to engage in programs for the teenagers, particularly “Talents Don’t Go Unnoticed” which will be altered to reflect a more diverse population of teenagers. We hope it will be well received by teenagers and consumers alike. What we will get is young blood with the creativity to relate to the consumers and an insight into what consumers need. This will promote KTC to a broader audience and familiarize teenagers with the KTC brand.”, said Niwatt in conclusion.
