Bangkok--6 Aug--Pr Plus Two Kingston Technology Company, Inc., the independent world leader in memory products, was recently ranked No. 1 by both iSuppli and DRAMeXchange, the world renowned independent research companies, in the global dynamic random access memory (DRAM) module supplier market, based on revenues. According to iSuppli, Kingston? had total DRAM module sales of over $2.2 billion (U.S. dollars) in 2006, nearly $800 million more than in 2005. The 2006 total represented a market share rise to 18.1%, over three times more than its closest competitor, as indicated in a statement released on June 29, 2007. DRAMeXchange also reported Kingston as No. 1 with annual DRAM revenue of US$1.8 billion and a 20.55% market share. “To be No. 1 on both iSuppli’s and DRAMeXchange’s lists is exciting and humbling, especially as Kingston turns 20-years old later this year,” said David Sun, co-founder, Kingston. “Our growth could only have been accomplished through the loyalty and support of our employees, customers and our vendors,” added Sun. Founded in 1987 with a single product offering, Kingston now offers more than 2,000 memory products. In addition to Flash memory for the latest digital devices, Kingston’s DRAM module offerings include branded or system-specific memory; ValueRAM? memory built to JEDEC specs and designed for system integrators and white box builders; and HyperX? for gamers and PC enthusiasts who demand higher performance and speed. The iSuppli report encompassed DRAM module revenues only and did not include OEM contract manufacturing or Flash memory sales. In February, Kingston announced its 2006 revenues were the highest in company history, as global sales reached $3.7 billion. 2006 Rank 2005 Rank Company 2006 Revenue* 2006 Market Share 2005 Revenue* 2005 Market Share 1 1 Kingston 2,210 18.1% 1,475 16.7% 2 2 Smart Modular 668 5.5% 483 5.46% 3 7 Ramaxel 648 5.3% 325 3.68% 4 3 A-Data 618 5.1% 453 5.12% 5 13 TwinMOS 494 4.0% 418 4.73% 6 4 Crucial 476 3.9% 355 4.02% 7 16 PQI 431 3.5% 202 3.68% 8 8 Corsair 425 3.5% 317 3.59% 9 5 Apacer 381 3.1% 355 4.02% 10 12 Transcend 359 2.9% 229 2.59% 11 9 Wintec 278 2.3% 250 2.83% Others 6,708 54.9% 4,611 52.2% Total 12,229 100.0% 8,833 100.00% * Revenue in U.S. Millions Source: iSuppli Corp., June 2007 2006 Rank 2005 Rank Company 2006 Own Brand DRAM Module Revenue* 2006 Market Share 1 1 Kingston 1800 20.55% 2 2 A-Data 631.4 7.21% 3 3 Smart Modular 482 5.50% 4 9 Transcend 352 4.02% 5 6 MA Labs 335 3.82% 6 14 Apacer 303 3.46% 7 5 Crucial 292 3.33% 8 8 Corsair 285 3.25% 9 12 TwinMOS 282 3.22% 10 7 Geil 272 3.10% * Revenue in U.S. Millions Source: DRAMeXchange, July 2007 For more detailed information visit the Kingston Web site at: www.kingston.com/asia.
