Bangkok--8 Aug--SET The Market for Alternative Investment (mai) together with Knowledge Management Professional Center of Asia (KMPCA) and the Department of Intellectual Property is organizing a seminar for entrepreneurs, on how to identify and realize value-adding opportunities. Entitled Finding added value for the organization through intellectual capital: measuring the un-measurable, the seminar will be on August 8, from 08:00 to 17:00 hours at the SET building, mai President Mr. Chanitr Charnchainarong said “This mai-sponsored event will support listed firms and businesses with growth potential by emphasizing the importance and commercial potential of knowledge management. A successful organization is measured by not only by its size and financial strength, but also by its management and use of intellectual capital. A firm’s competitiveness depends on the degree to which it can add value through the use of knowledge,” Mr. Chanitr added. “Properly understood, intellectual capital is an organizational asset which adds more value than the traditional items listed in financial statements. Balance sheets and income statements do not indicate the true worth of a company. An organization possesses invisible worth — knowledge — which can add value to products and services,” KMPCA Director Mr. Trairat Chatkaew said. The seminar will enable participants to identify their organizations’ intellectual, human, customer and structural capital, using an original methodology. Entrepreneurs will learn how to organize an Intellectual Capital (IC) Measurement Workshop to train other staff in their firms. The designer of IC Measurement, Mr. Ludo Pyis, Chairman of the Belgian company, Areopa, will be the guest speaker. Bookings for the seminar are filling up fast, with 100 organizations, financial institutions and listed companies having already reserved seats.
