EXIM Thailand Overhauls Credit Analysis Process to Boost Liquidity for Small Exporters

ข่าวทั่วไป Thursday August 9, 2007 13:28 —PRESS RELEASE LOCAL

Bangkok--9 Aug--EXIM BANK EXIM Thailand has introduced the new “EXIM Credit Fast Track” system to upgrade its credit analysis procedure which will help small exporters eligible for credit lines of up to 5 million baht to enhance their liquidity and competitiveness in the global market. Dr. Apichai Boontherawara, President of Export-Import Bank of Thailand (EXIM Thailand), revealed that the EXIM Credit Fast Track system would provide the Credit Analysis Department, newly established in mid-2007, with a clearly-defined framework to accelerate and streamline the Bank’s analysis and approval of new lending to small export businesses with an annual sale of not over 100 million baht and a working capital credit line of up to 5 million baht per borrower. According to EXIM Thailand President, due to a considerable increase in the number of small exporters and export suppliers and the fact that 40 percent of EXIM Thailand’s clients are small exporters, the Bank has resolved to further improve and speed up its credit approval process in support of small export-oriented entrepreneurs. The new system will also provide them with better access to financing facilities and improve their preparedness to penetrate or expand into the new markets. Moreover, the EXIM Credit Fast Track is expected to enlarge the Bank’s customer base while increasing credit line approvals for existing customers in line with the government policy to boost the liquidity of small and new exporters as well as local export suppliers.
