GEN sales grown by 32% in 2nd quarter

Bangkok--10 Aug--General Engineering General Engineering Public Company, a leading pilling firm, reports its operation result in the 2nd quarter that its sales reaches 285 million baht, up by 32% compared to the same period of last year, pushing its sales in the first two quarters jumps to 614 million baht, up by 30% from 474 million baht. According to Mr. Kittichai raktakanit, GEN Managing Director, the profit from the operation in the second quarter also dramatically jumped by 385% from one million baht in last year to 39.5 million baht. He said the jumping operation result was from the management’s decision to control the production cost, starting from the beginning of this year, encouraging GEN to increase its profit margin of pilling service jumped from 3% to 7%. Currently, 47% of revenue of GEN is from pilling service, 28% is from construction material and 25% is from subcontractor business. “The outcome, in term of figure, is not considerable to the management, but the unification from more than 400 staff members is valuable for the management. We have reduced the lost during the production process encouraging us to reduce the production cost. The employee unification is worth and is the company’s asset,” said Mr. Kittichai. He said by the end of this year, GEN was confident that it would be able to reach its sales target that expected to grow 12% from 1,000 million baht in last year. The market demand for piles was continuously growing because the foreign investors, especially from Japan, had invested in Thailand creating demand for pile, said Mr. Kittichai and adding that GEN had held more than 400 million baht backlog.
