Ms. Pimpaka added "In addition to this, the plaza also displays rare turtle species, for example, the Alligator Snapping Turtle, from North America, the world’s largest fresh water turtle reaching over 1 meter in length and weighing over 100 kilograms. It is characterized by rugged, muscular builds with ridged carapace, heavy head and a long tail with powerful eagle beak jaw and red tough to attract prey. The South American Leaf Turtle, has flat triangular head with rugged leaf shape like carapace with patterns that mimic dried leaves and rocks. It is more than 50 centimeters in length and weighs more than 20 kilograms. The Snapper Turtle from Central America is 50 centimeters in length and weighs more than 30 kilograms, the same specie as the Alligator Snapper turtle but of a smaller size. This specie of turtle is considered rare and is on the animal conservation list type 1. The Big-Headed Turtle is approximately 20-25 centimeters. The most distinctive characteristic is an oversized triangular head - it can be up to half the width of the carapace itself. Due to the size of its head, the turtle is incapable of withdrawing it into its shell. It has a very long rat like tail.
