Prantalay tap into Muslim Global Market, showcasing Halal menus at the World of Muslim 2007

In addition, information provided by the Halal Science Centre, Chulalongkorn University shows a total world's population to be approximately 6,600 million, while Muslim population accounted to be about 1,900 million or 29% of total world's population, living in 148 countries. An estimated 1,400 Muslim population mainly belong to the OIC's (Organization of Islamic Conference) member countries. Muslim population experiences rapid growth, particularly in United States, India, China, European Union and Russia, which experiences 2-3 folds annual growth. Muslim population in Thailand is estimated at 5-6 million, representing 8-10% of the country's total population. Muslim mainly live in Thailand's 4 southern provinces; Pattani, Yala, Narathiwat and Satoon, representing as high as 40%, while 20% live in 10 southern provinces. Muslim population in Bangkok Metropolitan and the Central Region represents 30% of Thailand's total Muslim population, 5% in the Eastern Regions and another 5% in the Northern part of Thailand. The estimated market value of Halal food for Muslims could reach as high as 600,000 million dollars each year or 20.4 trillion Baht. The world's Muslim consumers are divided as follows; 8 million in America with a market value of 1,750 million dollars per year, 18 million in Europe with an estimated market value of 2,630 million dollars per year and 200 million in Indonesia with approximate market value of 2,190 million dollars per year. Thailand’s share in Halal products market is estimated at 330 million dollars or 0.057%". The "World of Muslim 2007" is schedule for September 7-9, where Muslim consumers will have the chance taste fresh and delicious, premium hygienic processed seafood products under the brand name "Prantalay", in line with the stronger and healthier Muslim concept.
