Bangkok--6 Sep--CPF President and CEO Adirek Sripratak of Charoen Pokphand Foods (CPF) revealed that presently the price of meat in domestic markets has been increasing after dropped in the first quarter of this year. Currently, chicken meat at farm price cost 35 — 36 baht a kilo while was at 20 baht a kilo, pork is at 46-47 baht, was at 30-33 a kilo, while price of egg has jump up to 2.20 baht from 1.70 baht as before. These came from the result of adapted all operations to match with the demand of the market. Consequence, it will show a high price on meat products in the second half of this year. Meanwhile, a meat price in China and the EU is also getting up due to the effect of rising cost of raw material. For international investment, CPF has received a good feedback. For example, in Turkey, businesses showed a jumped up growth while aquaculture businesses in Malaysia and India have expanded as well as in livestock businesses. Thus, the company expects it will show a great growth and progression in the third and fourth quarters. From these factors, it expects the overall result of CPF in 2007 will continuously grow and the total sale will increase at least 10% compare to 2006’s performance, said Adirek. Another concern for all export entrepreneurs is a strong baht; however, with a good management in currency, importing some raw materials, as well as good understandings from customers in increasing products prices, this concern is minor affected to CPF businesses.
