Bangkok--6 Sep--EXIM Thailand EXIM Thailand and Baker Tilly commence the auction process of the Bank’s 8.7-billion-baht NPLs portfolio. Interested Thai and overseas investors are invited to register to participate in the auction by September 14, 2007 while the bidding process is scheduled for completion this November. Dr. Apichai Boontherawara, President of Export-Import Bank of Thailand (EXIM Thailand), said that the Bank with the support of Baker Tilly Corporate Advisory Services (Thailand) Limited (Baker Tilly), appointed in May 2007 as independent financial advisor for the divesting of the Bank’s non-performing loans (NPLs) portfolio, is ready to start the auction process of the Bank’s 8.7 billion-baht NPLs portfolio, 80% of which are secured debts. Interested investors can acquire preliminary information and registration forms from now until September 14, 2007. Bid submission is scheduled for October 29, 2007 and the announcement of successful bidders on November 5, 2007. The Bank is also proactively improving its loan quality and preventing new NPLs by establishing the Credit Analysis Department since the middle of this year.
