Bangkok--7 Sep--LOWE PR Blue Elephant Cooking School and Restaurant is reliving the glories of ancient Thai cuisine with a special “Back to the Past” celebration of rare Thai menu specialties. This special event gives Thais and tourists the chance to sample ancient and famed Thai dishes and introduces them to a new generation of diners. “Thai cuisine is culturally precious to all Thai people,” said Nooror Somany Steppe, Founding Partner & Director of Blue Elephant. “Blue Elephant is delighted to be an ambassador for Thai food by bringing ancient as well as rare menus from the past century to serve to a new generation of diners,” added Nooror. “Back to the Past” will delight both Thais and foreigners who love Thai food. Some of the signature dishes featured in the Back to the Past promotion include Nam Prik Ru Pak Lam and Sang Wa Koong Pla Duk Fu, which was created in the King Rama II era. Other rare delights include Mieng Som (เมี่ยงส้ม), Yam Kamoy (ยำขโมย), Ma Aun (ม้าอ้วน), Sai Sang Wa (ใส้แสร้งว่า), Tom Klong Pla Grob Yod Ma Kam (ต้มโคล้งปลากรอบยอดมะขาม), Tom Jew (ต้มจิ๋ว), Kaeng Boom Bai Kai (แกงบุ่มไบ่ไก่), Pra Ram Long Song (พระรามลงสรง), and Kanom Mor Kaeng Tua Tong (ขนมหม้อแกงถั่วทอง), a famous Thai dessert. The menus for Back to Past have been selected by Mrs. Nooror Somany Steppe and Chef Wichai Thanapanupat Executive Chef of Blue Elephant in Bangkok with consulting input from Arjarn Srisamorn Khongphan, a guru of Thai ancient cuisine. The Back to the Past will be featured for lunch and dinner from September 15thuntil October 31st, 2007. In addition, Back to the Past will serve buffet style every Wednesday.
