Thai hospitals rise to fame again for wining four Asian Hospital Management Awards, which recognizes and honors hospitals in Asia that carry out best practices in hospital management, at the sixth annual Hospital Management Asia (HMA) conference. Siriraj Hospital won two awards, one in the Human Resource Development category for “Routine to Research (R2R) Project: Striving Towards Learning Organization Thailand” project and runner-up award — Customer Service category for “The Heart by Siriraj — A Radical Change in Public Hospital Service”. Bangkok Hospital Group Medical Center was named the runner up for the Patient Safety/Quality Medical Care category for its “Prevention of Catheter Related Blood Stream Infection: A Bangkok Hospital Experiences” project. Meanwhile, Samitivej Sukumvit Hospital was name the runner-up for Technical Service Improvement category for its “E-Nursing Kardex” project. In addition, a Lifetime Achievement Award was also presented to Dr. Surapong Ambhanwong, Chief Medical and International Business Officer, Phyathai Group of Hospitals, Bangkok, Thailand, in recognition of his major contribution to the development and advancement of health care and service to the community.
