Bangkok--11 Sep--SET Three companies from the Market for Alternative Investment (mai) -- Eternity Grand Logistics PCL (ETG), Unimit Engineering PCL (UEC) and Unique Mining Services PCL (UMS) -- will join ‘Thailand Focus 2007’, an event to inform top-level executives, managers and analysts from leading international funds and institutions about Thailand’s economy, government policies and listed companies. In addition, foreign and domestic institutions attending will be able to obtain English language copies of ‘mai Stock Focus’, a booklet highlighting 44 mai-listed firms. “This is the first time mai-listed firms have participated in ‘Thailand Focus’, providing an opportunity for these small- and medium-sized companies to meet one-on-one with other institutions and present operational performance information and business plans,” mai President Mr. Chanitr Charnchainarong said. ETG is the first mai-listed firm to engage in integrated logistic services, offering customs brokerage, transportation and warehouse management. The logistics business is a Thai government-promoted strategic industry The company recorded THB 19 million net profit in H1/2007 and has a market capitalization of THB 566 million. UEC is a made-to-order manufacturer of high pressure vessel used in energy companies’ manufacturing processes. In H1/2007, the firm was the most profitable company on mai, in absolute term, recording THB 154 million net profit, or 19% of the combined profits of mai-listed firms. UEC’s market capitalization is about THB 4,540 million, the highest on mai. UMS is an importer and distributor of superior coal for industrial plants. The company received SET Awards in two categories --mai Newly-Listed STAR in 2005 and mai Best Return STAR in 2005 and 2006. In H1/2007, the firm recorded THB 119 million net profit or 15% of the combined profits of mai-listed companies. UMS’s market capitalization is about THB 3,248 million. Total profits of ETG, UEC and UMS are THB 292 million, or 36% of H1/2007 profits of all mai-listed firms. Their combined market capitalization is THB 8,426 million, or 28% of mai’s total market capitalization of THB 30,942 million.
