Bangkok--13 Sep--Spark Communications Emirates Airline is getting ready to launch its new non-stop daily service to Newcastle in the United Kingdom, starting 1st September 2007. This will bring the number of UK destinations served by Emirates to six. The new service will provide international travellers and shippers across Thailand and Asia, with a new direct link to the UK’s North-east region via Emirates from the carrier’s Dubai hub. Emirates flight EK035 will depart Dubai at 07:20 every day, arriving in Newcastle at 12:10. The return flight EK036 will depart Newcastle International Airport at 13:40, arriving into Dubai International Airport at 00:05 the following day. (All times are local). Conveniently, this flight’s schedule matches up nicely with Emirates’ daily 777 Bangkok to Dubai flights — meaning travelers can leave Bangkok in the early morning and arrive in Newcastle after lunch on the same day. Advance bookings in Newcastle have been brisk and Bangkok has proved to be the second most popular destination from this city, which will considerably boost tourism into Thailand. Mr. Jeyhun Efendi, Emirates’ Country Manager for Thailand and Indochina said: "We are pleased to be able to provide our customers in Thailand with a new gateway into the United Kingdom, and better access to the Northeast region - one of UK’s fastest developing areas for tourism and commerce.” “We believe there is terrific potential for this flight - in particular for Thai travelers to the area, and for British nationals from the northeast wishing to avoid traveling through London’s busy airports on their way to and from Thailand,” he added. The daily non-stop service between Newcastle and Dubai will be operated by an Airbus A330-200 aircraft, with 27 Business Class and 251 Economy Class seats. It also provides a daily cargo carrying capacity of 14 tonnes. For more information, log onto www.emirates.com .
