Bangkok--17 Sep--Thai Airways International Thai Airways International Public Company Limited announced the cancellation of return flights on the route Bangkok — Phuket v.v. until Phuket International Airport resumes operations. Flg. Off. Apinan Sumanaseni, President of Thai Airways International Public Company Limited, said that the announcement by Phuket International Airport to temporarily cease provision of services has resulted in the company’s suspension of return flights on the route Bangkok — Phuket v.v., whereby 8 flights were cancelled on 16 September 2007, as follows: Suvarnabhumi — Phuket, flights TG 217, TG 223, TG 225 Phuket — Suvarnabhumi, flights TG 218, TG 228 Don Muang — Phuket, flight TG 1221 Phuket — Hong Kong, flight TG 604 Phuket — Don Muang, flight TG 1200 THAI provided assistance to passengers flying on THAI flights, who were stranded at the airport, by providing hotel accommodation in Phuket. Furthermore, the company adjusted its flight schedule for departure and arrival of flights routed to and from Phuket International Airport. Currently, Phuket International Airport will be open for normal service today (17 Sept. 2007) as of 17.00 hours onwards. As for today (17 Sept. 2007), the company has adjusted the flight routed Bangkok — Phuket to operate Bangkok — Krabi v.v. instead, as a special flight to serve those needing to travel to Phuket, by landing in Krabi and providing ground transportation to Phuket, as follows: Flight TG 1205, routed Don Muang — Krabi Departs Don Muang at 10.40 hrs., arrives in Krabi at 12.00 hrs. Flight TG 1206, routed Krabi — Don Muang Departs Krabi at 12.45 hrs., arrives in Don Muang at 14.10 hrs. Flight TG 1245, routed Don Muang — Krabi Departs Don Muang at 14.45 hrs., arrives in Krabi at 16.05 hrs. Flight TG 1246, routed Krabi — Don Muang Departs Krabi at 16.50 hrs., arrives in Don Muang at 18.10 hrs. Flight TG 203, routed Suvarnabhumi — Krabi Departs Suvarnabhumi at 10.15 hrs., arrives in Krabi at 11.35 hrs. Flight TG 1204, routed Krabi — Suvarnabhumi Departs Krabi at 12.25 hrs., arrives in Suvarnabhumi at 13.45 hrs. Flg. Off. Apinan Sumanseni, THAI’s President, also said that the company provided emergency assistance by sending staff under its FAST Team (Family Assistance Support Team), consisting of employees who has been trained to assist and coordinate with family members of passengers who were injured or lost lives, which is assistance that THAI provides to One-Two-Go Airline.
