Bangkok--19 Sep--SET Thailand Futures Exchange PCL (TFEX) announced the second round winners from its online derivatives trading competition, TFEX Futures Camp Challenge. Participants made over 60% in returns over 10 days. It is expected that they are now very familiar with SET50 Options, TFEX’s new product. “The competition provides an opportunity for people to trade derivatives online, and familiarize themselves with trading and pledging procedures,” TFEX Managing Director Ms. Kesara Manchusree said. TFEX Futures Camp Challenge has gone through two rounds, with the second round, which ended in August, introducing options trading to the game. Winners of the second round are Mr. Suphawat Ruekngam, who made returns of 63% over 10 days and ended up with THB 8.14 million from an initial THB 5 million virtual portfolio. In second and third place were Mr. Woradej Suruechukul and Mr. Sophon Pukasetthi, who achieved 44% and 31% returns respectively. Mr. Woradej reached a THB 7.18 million portfolio while Mr. Sophon had THB 6.54 million. The first, second and third place-getters received cash prizes of THB 50,000; THB 30,000 and THB 20,000 respectively. “The top three place-getters made very high returns, demonstrating that understanding derivatives trading is not that difficult. Moreover, after having talked with participants, we found that, although it takes time initially, learning is rapid after the first day of the options trading game,” Ms. Kesara added.
