Thai bourse and Bangkok Bank collaborate on seminar for medium-sized firms

Bangkok--21 Sep--SET Bangkok Bank PCL (BBL), Market for Alternative Investment (mai) and The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) invited the bank’s client network of medium-sized firms to the seminar Modern Risk Management. It is hoped that these companies may consider listing on the Exchange. About 100 people from medium-sized firms attended the seminar, which updated them on current economic conditions and assisted them to deal with global competition, BBL President Mr. Chartsiri Sophonpanich said. SET and mai are keen to work with commercial banks to enhance entrepreneurs’ understanding of the market as a capital-raising source, and to increase listings as indicated in SET’s three-year strategic plan, SET Executive Vice President Mr. Vichate Tantiwanich stated. This seminar benefited entrepreneurs by updating them on risk management and current opportunities. In addition, SET and mai staff distributed information about preparations and procedures for listing on the exchanges. The event is an important collaboration to develop new listings, mai President Mr.Chanitr Charnchainarong added. Modern Risk Management was held today (Sep. 20) from 13:00 — 17:00 hrs. at the SET Building. Speakers included Dr. Yunyong Thaicharoen, Ph.D., from the Bank of Thailand’s Capital Account and Balance of Payments Policy Team, part of the Monetary Policy Group; Mr. Sa-ard Theerarojanawong, BBL’s Vice President-Funds and Liquidity Management, and Mr. Voraphot Srimahachota, Chairman of Multibax PCL. Mr. Pachara Panyayong from Money Channel was the moderator.
