Bangkok--26 Sep--The Japan Foundation The Japan Foundation, Bangkok proudly presents an art exhibition “The Country that I love: Thailand” by a Japanese artist, Kyoko Abe. This year celebrates the “120th Anniversary of Japan-Thailand Diplomatic Relations, 2007”, for which she designed its logo you see above for this auspicious occasion. Since 1996 when Kyoko Abe came to Thailand, she has continually created art works and held many art exhibitions. However, this exhibition is different in that it is the first time she will make an installation work of her tiny sculptures, not her ordinary paintings. It’s an exhibition you should not miss ! Message from Kyoko Abe: When I first came to this country, I felt that it would be my destiny to live here. It seems only yesterday that I took time from work and wandered around with my sketch book. Before I knew it, I was living here. Since that time, 15 years has passed. Even now, I am still very enchanted with this country of Thailand. Entering into a Thai household, and coming to know Thailand — the people, the culture and surrounded by many kind people, I have completed many works of art. The Brilliance… the radiance… the shining sunlight. Surrounded by the abundant nature of trees, flowers and grass… and the fruit of it all. The fragrant blessing of the earth draws me in and won’t let me go. We extend a warm welcome to all visitors and hope you will enjoy this enchanting art exhibition.
