Bangkok--8 Oct--SET The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET)’s New Listings Committee resolved, on October 5, to set up a task force to improve current regulations concerning listing on the Exchange, with a particular view to reducing expenses for public companies, SET and New Listings Committee Chairman Mr. Pakorn Malakul Na Ayudhya said. The initiative will lead to an increase in listings, and care will be taken to protect investors’ benefits. The task force, which is to report its recommendations within a month, will be made up of members from SET and the Listed Companies Association, and will identify what the Thai bourse might learn from the regulations of other exchanges, Mr. Pakorn added. At its meeting, the New Listings Committee heard that its previously proposed amendments to listing requirements have been approved by the SET Board, and that the promotion campaign, involving committee members and SET’s marketing team, has contacted target companies.
