Bangkok--9 Oct--Aziam Burson-Marsteller SAP launches Thailand-specific SAP ERP Solution to fast track adoption of Enterprise Resource Planning for small and mid-size companies SAP has launched a new SAP ERP Solution to fast track adoption of ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) by small and mid-size companies in Thailand. The SAP ERP Solution for small and medium enterprises provides a localised, pre-built solution facilitating the rapid deployment of SAP via a best practices methodology. Thai business requirements, such as a Chart of Accounts, taxation regulations including VAT (Value Added Tax) and other local data are pre-configured and built into the package. A proven, step-by-step, deployment methodology clarifies scope and reduces risk. “SAP has made it easier and more affordable for small and mid-size companies in Thailand to deploy and start realising the benefits of our suite of applications and technologies. By working with our channel partners to develop SAP Business All — in — One and SAP Business One, we have opened up a new realm of possibilities for our SME customers,” said Khun Patara Yongvanich, Managing Director of SAP Thailand. “The SAP SME Solution will be welcomed by Thai small and mid-size companies that are looking to expand and optimize their business operations without having to worry about a large and complex system implementation. SAP partners will be able to support our customer’s industry specific needs and scope out customisation options with greater ease. This will enable faster, more efficient ERP deployments for SME companies, reducing project risk and overall costs,” added Khun Patara. There are three main components in the SAP SME package solution: Detailed, step-by-step implementation procedures Extensive, reusable documentation for scope evaluation, project team and end-user training Complete pre-configuration settings that provide everything needed to run integrated key processes. This solution has been purpose built by SAP’s SME development team for SAP’s indirect sales channel in Thailand. SAP will also market and sell this solution directly to SAP customers, in accordance with its hybrid go-to-market strategy for midsize enterprises. The SAP partner community has welcomed the localised SME Solution and the anticipated reduction in operating costs that result in lower costs to customers. Khun Patara added, “This approach reduces the software development and configuration burden on partners and allows them to focus on the delivery of effective and affordable solutions for small and mid-size enterprises.” A recent study of customers and SAP partners in the Asia Pacific region (including New Zealand) detailed the positive impact of using SME Solution including: Fifty percent less consulting and customer resources required for deployment 32 percent reduction in implementation time Cost savings between THB 3,500,000 — THB 3,800,000 ($91,250 on average for SAP Business All — in — One) and SAP Business One; the customers will save about 600,000-700,000.
