กรุงเทพฯ--18 ต.ค.--Bangkok Bank Bangkok Bank and the Board of Investment (BOI) are encouraging Thai businesses to expand in the region with a seminar about investment opportunities in Indonesia and the Philippines. The seminar will be held at Bangkok Bank’s head-office on Silom Road on Monday, October 29, 2007. Bangkok Bank Advisor Wittaya Supatanakul said the bank is supporting the BOI in its efforts to encourage Thai businesses to invest overseas. The seminar, which is being supported by the Indonesian and Philippine embassies in Thailand, will focus on investment opportunities in the food, energy, and agricultural industries in those countries. Participants at the seminar will learn about investment opportunities, the regulatory environment and incentives for investing in Indonesia and the Philippines. Mr. Wittaya said encouraging Thai businesses to invest in Indonesia and the Philippines would help them to expand beyond Thailand’s domestic market and take advantage of growth opportunities in these countries, generating stronger returns for Thailand. Speakers at the seminar will consist of experts from the government and private sectors who will share information and first-hand experience, including: Mr. James Castle, a board member and former President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Indonesia and the founder of CastleAsia, a business consulting firm in Indonesia, who will speak on Foreign Investment in Indonesia. Mr. Chaikrit Rattana, General Manager of PT Sri Trang Lingga Indonesia, who will speak on The Thai Experience of Doing Business in Indonesia. Mr. Chalit Tayjasanant, general manager of Bangkok Bank’s Jakarta branch, who will speak on Thai Investments in Indonesia. Mr. Efran V. Leano, Executive Director of the Philippine Board of Investments, who will speak on Investment Regulation in the Philippines. Mr. Medel T. Nera, a partner of SyCip Gorres Velayo, who will speak on Investment Experience in the Philippines. Mr. Prasarn Tuntasood, Manager of Bangkok Bank’s Manila branch, who will speak on Thai Investments in the Philippines. The seminar is free of charge but seats are limited.
