Bangkok--18 Oct--TQPR The Venetian Macao-Resort-Hotel recently welcomed the one millionth visitor through its doors, just 17 days since its spectacular Grand Opening on August 28. A surprised Mr. Chan Ka Fu was greeted at the doors of the hotel by senior Venetian executives Mr Mark Brown, President Sands Macao and The Venetian Macao-Resort-Hotel. The ‘one in a million’ visitor received a welcome reception of singing Gondoliers, a bouquet of flowers with honorary ‘Keys to the City’ of The Venetian Macao. He was also presented with two nights complimentary hotel accommodation, dinner at the Canton Restaurant and a cheque for HKD 88,888.00. “We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Mr. Chan Ka Fu to the Venetian as our one millionth visitor,” said Mr. Brown. “To have received over one million visitors since our opening just 17 days ago is quite simply a momentous achievement. “It is a resounding endorsement of the overwhelming interest shown by so many people in Macao, Hong Kong, China and the rest of the world who have wanted to see and experience for themselves the atmosphere and excitement of The Venetian Macao-Resort-Hotel and enjoy for the very first time facilities that really are wholly unique in Macao and Asia.” On its opening night more than 76,000 excited customers made their way into The Venetian Macao-Resort-Hotel, making its debut one of most well-attended openings in hospitality and gaming history and setting a dizzying pace that has continued through the resort-hotel’s first few weeks of operations. Official opening attendance figures, issued by The Venetian Macao-Resort-Hotel, revealed that during its initial first full 24 hours of operations following its opening, at 7:18 p.m. on Tuesday August 28, more than 114,000 people passed through its doors. Since opening to the public, The Venetian Macao-Resort-Hotel has continued to attract an unprecedented amount of visitors. It recorded an astonishing 170,000 people through its doors in the first opening weekend alone. Daily figures have varied from 42,000 to 86,000 and public interest in The Venetian Macao Resort-Hotel remains extremely high.
