Mr. Suwat Poonachai, TTGN’s General Manager urged “Currently, TTGN has already established network and connection to 3 backbones internet which is Hong Kong, the United States and France. The service has initially launched to ISP customers of which at the early stage will be the TT&T customer group and Maxnet’s users, who is the consumer of TT&T Subscriber Service Co., Ltd. (TT&T SS), besides that there is another sector of ISP customer who is interested in the service as well. With these three linked up paths, it will help the customer to directly connect the Internet cover all over Asia, America and Europe zone rather than indirectly connect to the other paths. This link enables TTGN to provide faster Internet gateway service and good response to the demand of specific group of consumers who need private path of service. Moreover, Mr. Suwat said that TTGN has also connected directly to Google, the biggest search engine provider in USA. Other than linked up to America’s Internet backbone, TTGN has enhanced it services by providing ‘Network peering’ to Google Inc. a giant of Internet Service Provider by starting from 1 Gbps directly connect TTGN’s router in America to Google network. It will enable all Google customers to transfer the data more rapidly no matter it is Google Search, GMail, YouTube, Google Earth, Google Application, Google Space, Google Labs, Picasa, Blogger and much more, because the data doesn’t need to indirectly pass on the other network which will be a unique advantage of Internet Gateway service in Thailand. TTGN also deals with its partners in USA to install direct switch (Peering) to other Rich Content Provider such as Time Warner, Limelight and Cogent. At this point, we can say that TTGN’s Internet Gateway has connected to Rich Content Providers, the International provider who cover most wanted content and information for users. Mr. Suwat added that what we have done today is very effective and improve the capacity of Internet service into another stage. Regarding to the National Telecommunication Commission granted TTGN to connect directly to the international network, if we cannot get this direct link, the mentioned service will be impossible. With a provision of the National Telecommunication Commission and permission for TTGN to operate, the benefits are all at user levels. The company has been preparing the next plan since mid of this year. If TTGN is fully set up within this last quarter, the service will be provided to the interested ISP and Operator. Next year, TTGN is assigning the budget to invest in the second phase for additional Gateway equipment installation and establishing 50 million baht for the network to neighbor countries with aim at 400 million baht of revenue. “Regarding to the market expansion to neighbor countries, TTGN has planned to be hub of the region. There will be networks to Cambodia, Burma and Laos respectively. Currently, we have already reached an agreement with our ally service provider in Cambodia to establish network switching between our countries and cooperate to provide service for consumer in Cambodia. At the moment, it’s under preparation to build up the network connection of the two countries. Furthermore, we also have a primary agreement with the service provide in Burma. TTGN anticipated that the company can commence the service of network connection to Cambodia, Burma and Loas within next year. The target market for these countries will be local ISP and Operators who would like to connect to the Internet Gateway in Thailand. The international revenues is expecting at a portion of 20-30% which enable TTGN to enlarge it customer base to neighbor countries and will be another way of income to the country.” “The Internet Gateway will be getting hot up next year because the service provider is attempting to improve the capability and differentiate its services parallel to lowering the cost and higher bandwidth usage. It’s expecting that the group of Broadband Internet customer will start at minimum of 1 Mbps which will cause over than 50% of bandwidth demand. Further than TTGN’s Internet Gateway, the company is in process for the International Direct Dialing (IDD) licensing from the National Telecommunication Commission which expecting to obtain by the end of this year. Next year, TTGN will try to create new services or international dialing service, so we would like the National Telecommunication Commission to accelerate on the approval as soon as possible.” Mr. Suwat finally said.
